County Court Judge James Baxley Appointed to Fifth Judicial Circuit

On August 17, 2018, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of County Court Judge James R. Baxley to the Fifth Judicial Circuit.

James R. Baxley, 49, of Eustis, is a County Court Judge in Lake County and previously was a partner at Hatfield and Baxley P.A. He received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Florida and his law degree from The University of Florida College of Law. Baxley fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Mark A. Nacke.

Hope Pattey Appointed to Polk County Court

On August 17, 2018, Governor Rick Scott appointed Hope Pattey to the Polk County Court replacing Judge Gerald P. Hill II who was appointed to a circuit judgeship in April. She formerly served as the director of homicide division for the State Attorney’s Office. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and law degree from Florida State University College of Law.

Dana Moss Appointed to Sarasota County Court

On August 17, 2018, Governor Rick Scott appointed Dana Moss to the Sarasota County Court. Moss is a former police officer and felony division chief for the Public Defender’s Office in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit. She earned her law degree from Florida Coastal Law School and bachelor’s degree at Penn State University. She will replace retiring Judge Judy Goldman.
