Gordon Charles Murray, Sr. Appointed to the Miami-Dade County Court

On October 30, 2017, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Gordon Charles Murray, Sr., to the Miami-Dade County Court.

Murray, 57, of Miami, is currently a General Magistrate and Child Support Hearing Officer for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. He previously practiced as a solo practitioner, and also served as a Special Magistrate for the Cities of North Miami and South Miami. He received his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Miami. Murray fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Lourdes Simon to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court.

Governor Scott Appoints Laura Ann Stuzin to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court

On October 9, 2017, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Laura Ann Stuzin to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court.

Stuzin, 47, has served as a County Court Judge in Miami-Dade County since 2015, prior to which she was of counsel with Rumberger, Kirk, & Caldwell, P.A. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and her law degree from the University of Miami.

The appointment fills vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Gisela Cardonne Ely.

Governor Scott Appoints Ivonne Cuesta to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court

On October 9, 2017, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Ivonne Cuesta to the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court.

Cuesta, 44, has served as a County Court Judge in Miami-Dade County since 2012, and she previously worked in the Office of the Public Defender for the 11th Circuit. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and law degree from Nova Southeastern University.

The appointment fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Norma S. Lindsey to the Third District Court of Appeal.

Governor Scott Appoints Meredith Charbula to the Duval County Court

On October 9, 2017, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Meredith Charbula to the Duval County Court.

Charbula, 59, of Jacksonville, is currently the Director of the Legal Division for the Office of the State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit. She previously worked in private practice, and as an Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Legal Affairs in Tallahassee. She received her bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University and law degree from Florida State University College of Law. Charbula fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Eric C. Roberson to the Fourth Judicial Circuit Court.
